Do You Need Health Insurance?

If you need health insurance and live in Colorado-I have great news for you! Here’s what happened recently. A friend of mine is a student and works part time as a waitress  She is 26 and doesn’t make a lot of money. In addition, she needed surgery on her foot. She has no insurance and her parents don’t have any-now what??

I was able to find insurance for her with help from my friend-even though she has a preexisting condition! Kaiser Permanenete has a great program. Here are the details:

  • You must be under the age of 36
  • You cannot earn more than $2300 a month
  • Your out of pocket expenses are no more than $100.
  • Your premium is $20 a month
  • You can have a preexisting condition!!

Interested? here’s what you do:

  • First: go here: http://www.findyourplan.org/
  • Then click on KP Step: http://www.findyourplan.org/en/kpstep
  • Scroll down to where it says “apply for KP Step today and you can download and print the application

This program is federally subsidized so we don’t know how long it will be around, so, don’t procrastinate if you need insurance. I do not know if this opportunity exists in other states but please share the information here if you are aware of similar programs.

Good luck!!
