When Passion Meets Cash Flow

Just to show you that it’s not about cash flow all the time, I wanted to share this inspiring story about Erika Sunnegardh. She is the lady in the picture. Never heard of Erika Sunnegardh? I hadn’t either until reading this story in the New York Times today. Erika struggled for 20 years as a waitress, caterer and tour guide in New York. But today, in New York, she will be appearing at the Metropolitan Opera in the title role of Beethoven’s “Fidelio” as a last minute substitute for an ailing Karita Mattila. Not only is she at the Met today but Saturday’s radio broadcast will be heard by 10 million people around the world!! How cool is that. I find her tenacity and passion to be very insiring and wish her all the success in the world. Erika, I hope that your waitress days are over and you make $20 million this year-Break a Leg!!

PS. Yes, I did listen and Erika was fabulous 🙂

Erika is a friend of mine, and believe me… it couldn’t happen to a nicer person.
